G-13; They Haven’t Come Back!
“G-13; They Haven’t Come Back!” is an initiative of we, civil society elements of Indonesia, to call all of us to remember, and remind other people, that until now 13 young people are still missing, forcibly made disappeared 13 years ago by the oppressive apparatus of the authoritarian state, as a result of their concerns and actions for progress and well-being of the nation’s people. They are part of a total of 23 activists reported “missing” by their families and friends.
We launch “G-13; They Haven’t Come Back!” on March 1st, 2011, which will peak on March 12th and 13th this year. The dates are important historical moments for, at least, on two days during those dates 13 years ago, six pro-democracy activists were abducted and taken away.
Through “G-13; They Haven’t Come Back!”, we aim to mobilize public support to get involved in this activity by, among others, posting messages and campaigns in social networking media such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs, as well as other media. Besides, we also mobilize support from media, public figures, and relevant government institutions, as well as public gatherings, such as a Reconstruction and Performance Art “The Abduction of Herman Hendrawan” which is due to be held in Jakarta, on March 12th, the date when Herman was abducted, from the YLBHI office yard in Jl. Diponegoro to Megaria. The following day (March 13th), in the Parking Square of Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, we will launch an album of 13 songs by 13 bands dedicated to the 13 people who are still missing.

G-13; Mereka Belum Kembali!
